Palagsing:The Butuanon`s Pride

         During the World War ll, Butuan is one of the very affected place o that time. Butuanon`s hid in the mountain so that they cannot be caught by the Japanese soldiers. They use "palagsing" as their  food to survive from the famine on the war .


                               



          "Palagsing" is a native food of butuan made from a strach called "Unaw" where it is get from a certain tree called "Lumbia" . In making this food, the trunk of lumbia is divided into two equal parts. The trunk that is divided was pulverized and preserved in one day. After the preservation process, the Unaw where it is the product of the preservation process was mixed with coconut milk and powder and brown sugar. After mixing, it was put in a banana leaves and rolled it. It was cooked up to thirty minutes. 
                             



         In present time, we can find most palagsing makers in Brgy. Banza where the civilization of Butuanon began. Also we can can buy Palagsing in Langihan Public Market at ten pesos per bundle.
This Butuanon food is very delicious and affordable. And your Adventure in Butuan will not be completed if you cannot try the palagsing which is the Butuan Pride .
